Storm Chase

Central Oklahoma

Editor:  Putnam Reiter

The Chase -

Team 1 - David Underwood, Rob Ferguson, and Putnam Reiter
Miles Driven - 80
Departure Time - 15:00 CST
Return Time - 18:00 CST

We drove to Okarche and watched the cirrus pass over us.  After an hour or so of this we turned around and came home.

Storms eventually developed along and behind the cold front.  Several wind reports of 55-60mph have been received.  Many of these are gradient flow and related to the cold front.  Much of the action today has been in Arkansas.  Looks like a Godzilla cap kept us from doing much, not to forget the thick cirrus.

Lessons Learned -

Little to mention here, wasn't much reason to go out on this day.  More hopeful that we would get a little action than anything.

Encounters -

Engaged Storm:  No
Tornado:  No
Funnel:  No
Hail (larger than 0.75 inches):  No
Wall Cloud:  No
Wind (above 57.4 mph):  No
